The Canon XF105 is ready to shoot up to 1920 x 1080 Full HD video and at 50Mbps (4:2:2) as MPEG-2 MXF (Media eXchange Format) – A file format compatible with full non-linear editing (NLE) systems. A large amount of video can be stored on to dual CompactFlash (CF) cards and thanks to Relay Recording you can continue recording without interruption, should you fill up your first card. You also have the option to store the same footage to both cards for added security.
10x zoom Canon HD Video Lens
Designed with Canon’s broadcast lens expertise, the Canon XF105 boasts a quick, wide angle Canon HD Video Lens (f1.8-f2.8, 30.4mm) The lens has an integrated control ring for convenient adjustment of zoom, focus or iris. Plus the Canon XF105 also features Canon’s Optical Image Stabiliser system to reduce chromatic aberration and maintain image sharpness.
Inside the Canon XF105 is a cutting-edge Canon 2.07MP Full HD CMOS sensor. The sensor features a Bayer pattern colour filter and this helps to achieve a higher sensitivity and wider dynamic range. Plus the camcorder’s high-speed data readout technology minimises rolling-shutter skew that can often occur with CMOS camcorders.
Versatile shooting options
The XF105 is ideal for a range of situations including studio shoots and multi-camera 3D shoots. The camcorder has an industry standard HD-SDI output, allowing you to output uncompressed Full HD with embedded audio and Timecode. Plus a combined Genlock In and Timecode In/Out terminal makes the XF105 perfect for multi-camera shoots.
In addition the XF105 offers OIS Axis Shift and Focal Length Guide 3D Shooting Assist functions, allowing for stereoscopic 3D video capturing using two camcorders. There is even a new improved Infrared shooting mode with Built-in IR lamp and green or white options for getting great results in locations with little to no ambient light.
The Canon XF105 is equipped with a large 3.5” side-mounted LCD display with a razor-sharp 920k dot resolution. The display features built-in waveform monitor and Edge Focus function, so you can precisely frame your shot with ease. Alternatively you can use a 0.24-inch 260k dot Electronic Viewfinder with 100% coverage to compose your shot.
A wide variety of frame rates are on offer, ranging from 12 to 50 fps, so you have the flexibility and options to be creative.
With the Canon XF105 you can add first-class sound to your Full HD video. The camcorder has twin XLR inputs for connecting professional microphones, as well as a front-mounted stereo microphone. Plus you have the option to capture uncompressed Linear PCM audio.
