The Nikon D90 is a versatile DSLR designed for someone who loves their photography. It's a well-built camera, full of useful features, it’s quick and it is one of the first DSLRs to feature HD video capturing.

The Nikon D90 is equipped with sophisticated EXPEED image processing technologies and NIKKOR optics to meet the demands of even the most dedicated photographer. The 12.3-megapixel 23.6 x 15.8mm DX format CMOS sensor produces breathtaking image fidelity. Plus the built in 4-frequency, ultrasonic sensor cleaning unit ensures that the sensor stays spotless, even after you have changed lenses.

The Nikon D90 features one of the most impressive AF systems at this level. The Multi-CAM 1000 11-point AF system with 3D tracking focuses quickly and accurately, no matter what the light condition may be and even if the subject is moving quickly. AF also works in live view, this being a contrast-detection AF system with optional face detection and a choice of two different-sized focus points.

Shoot stunning 720p HD Video

The Nikon D90‘s D-Movie Mode can capture HD movie clips at 720p HD with mono sound. Then once you’ve filmed, you can connect the Nikon D90 to an HDTV via the HDMI output and play your video or view your shots in outstanding high-definition image quality.

A great addition and useful feature is the Active D-Lighting with a choice of five different levels and automatic mode. This effectively increases the dynamic range and adjusts the exposure in different parts of the image to ensure that it isn’t ruined by burned-out highlights or black shadows minus detail.

With the quick Nikon D90, chances are that you won’t miss a shot. You can shoot continuously at 4.5fps and benefit from 15ms power up and 65ms shooting lag.

ISO sensitivity from 200-3200 and the advanced signal-to-noise components allow you to produce images with a minimal amount of noise even at a high ISO.

There are a range of on-board retouching tools to choose from including D-lighting, red-eye correction, cropping rotating and re-sizing, filter effects, colour balance, multi-image composites and Raw processing options. This is a quick and easy way to enhance your photos and complete them without the need for photo editing software.

The Nikon D90 is a great all-round DSLR camera. It has the performance and image quality to suit semi-pros and anyone who takes their photography hobby seriously. While handy features such as live view and HD video mode will suit someone looking for a step-up from their digital still camera.
