Flash Units & Accessories
Flash Units provide a more powerful flash compared to that which you find on most cameras. Flash units can provide the required illumination, even in locations with little natural light.
Most flash units attach to the cameras accessory shoe, and are powered by standard alkaline batteries. A large number of units can automatically link with the camera’s exposure, focusing and zoom controls, meaning you can let the flash do the work. If you wish to adjust the unit yourself, you still can, as most have manual settings.
Flash Units are produced by the leading camera manufacturers for their own camera range, so make sure the flash unit is compatible with your camera first.
External Flash Brackets attach to the bottom of certain DSLRs and let you attach a Flash Unit to the side of your camera. This means you can shoot in portrait without having to worry about the unwanted shadows that can form when shooting with a flash unit mounted on top of a camera.
