CDs
Blank CDs are used for burning files, music and video using your computer’s DVD and CD burner.
With a blank CD you can make audio CDs that can be played on your stereo, create video CDs that can be viewed on your DVD Player or backup and store computer data.
There are two formats of recordable CD; CD-R and CD-RW. CD-R lets you record data only once and CD-RW lets you rewrite over the discs previous data. CD-RWs are a useful way to transfer data that you only need for a certain amount of time.
CD-Rs are better for making permanent discs; they’re better for audio CDs, video CDs and for keeping a permanent back up of your data. Most devices will play CD-Rs but not all will play CD-RWs.
